The cluster exposition of Silicon Saxony enterprises (Germany) caused the special attention of visitors – industry experts. In 2019 Dresden, the center of European microelectronics, became the partner city of the exhibition. Before starting the panel discussion “Development of Clusters and Technoparks” a welcoming speech to the delegates was made by  Mr. Dirk Hilbert, Ober-burgermeister of the city of Dresden.

The exhibition was accompanied by an extensive program of business events, where visitors could get up-to-date data on the microelectronics market and its development prospects in Russia and in the world, learn about new projects in this industry and exchange experience with world-class experts.

On the first day, the director of the Russian branch of Frost & Sullivan, Alexey Volostnov, presented to specialists the industry review of the microelectronics market.

On the same day, a panel discussion “Development of clusters and technoparks. International experience and Russian projects”, practical session“ Digitalization of industry: interaction of enterprises and the state ”, panel discussion“ Russia as a growing market and its opportunities ”, as well as a session dedicated to high-tech medical equipment and technologies were held. The presentations of participants on promising developments, innovations and innovations prepared specially for the exhibition were held with success. In total, the business program events were attended by over 170 people.

On May 14, at the SEMIEXPO Russia exhibition, the Talents Day was held for the first time with the support of the SEMI Association. During this day students, young professionals or specialists who already have experience in the industry, could communicate with representatives of the largest Russian and international companies in order to get prestigious work in the cluster companies Silicon Saxony eV in Dresden. 38 people registered to participate in the Talent Day, among which were both students and those who already have work experience. Representatives of companies highly appreciated the level of preparation of candidates.

The feedback from participants also testify on the success of the exhibition. So, Andrusha Ndirembako from the company JSR Micro NV noted that the discussions and meetings during SEMIEXPO Russia 2019 were interesting and fruitful.  Thomas Kraus from centrotherm clean solutions GmbH & Co. KG said: “We were glad to participate third time in a row on the Semiexpo in Russia. The organization was very good and everything went smooth. The networking night in Bosco Cafe was excellent! Also, the FAB tour to CrocusNanoElectronics was very nice. All in all, we are hoping that the russian semiconductor industry will start growing again for more future business. We will likely participate again.”

In parallel with the SEMIEXPO Russia exhibition, the VI season of the international development program INRADEL was held. The INRADEL teams acted as exhibitors and participants of PitchDeck in the special section of Science & Technology Arena. INRADEL program participants – young innovators (students and graduate students) study the basics of technological entrepreneurship, develop projects under the guidance of the best mentors and industry experts, receive grants for the development of developments. According to the organizers of the INRADEL program, JSC TsNII Electronics, such events allow program participants to get the most important experience at the early stage of developing their projects. It was especially important for the contestants to get feedback from industry experts, including from foreign companies – this is a great opportunity to identify the problem areas of the projects and start working on them now.

During two days of work, more than 1,500 specialists visited the SEMIEXPO Russia exhibition.

The SEMIEXPO Russia project is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the leading Russian and foreign associations in the field of developing technologies and standards in the field of microelectronics.

The next edition will take place in Moscow in 2020. Stay tuned to our news!
