The Talent Day will present a completely new format for a multi-channel approach aimed at recruiting, educating and exchanging expertise in best practices in workforce development, targeting microelectronics companies.
Sponsored by Globalfoundries, the SEMI Talent Day will enable SEMI members to interact with potential future hires and enhance their business connections with Russian companies, as well as network with experts from Russia and CIS.
Young engineers and students will have the chance to meet with experienced industry professionals from member companies and explore career chances within the global industry.
Both parties will have the chance to meet eye-to-eye and to start a recruitment process if the fit is well. Onsite we will arrange a Career Café where all the interested companies will be able to interact with the educated and skilled workforce from Russia. The semiconductor industry is strategically positioned in the digital economy. With its leading design and manufacturing companies and research organizations, Europe is poised to grow. Global competition, nevertheless, is getting fiercer. Only countries with a large, diverse and dynamic electronics workforce can remain competitive and be the ones shaping the digital economy. It is paramount for semiconductor players to gain, train and retain its workforce aligned with emerging global trends. Under this light, the sessions will shed light on education, skills and workforce-related issues affecting the competitiveness of semiconductor players in Europe. With the participation of speakers from large and small companies, universities and political authorities, the sessions will provide a rich debate on common workforce challenges, share good HR practices, address topical issues such as the role of career guidance, talent attraction strategies, school-to-work transition, and the role of public policy in securing talent.
