In ten cities of Russia, free educational events will be organized on the basis of universities, the purpose of which will be to increase the literacy of the population in the digital economy. All interested persons will be told what smart houses, Internet of things, block and crypto-currencies.

The corresponding project with the support of the Ministry of Education, the State Duma and the Analytical Center under the Government is launched by the Russian Association of Students in the Development of Science and Education (RASNO), RT reports.

“We will create communities of students and experts who will conduct educational activities for the population, including in modern formats, including hakaton and foresight. Knowledge should help participants implement various projects, understand where to invest, where not, for example, what kind of currency to buy, “said the chairman of the organization’s board, Sergei Shestakov.

He recalled that according to the government’s program “Development of the Digital Economy of Russia” by 2024, 40% of the population should have the relevant digital skills. However, in his opinion, this can not be achieved unless such educational activities are organized.

Training events are planned to be held in Moscow, Sevastopol, St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Blagoveshchensk, Ufa, Kazan and Kirov. The pilot project will be launched in May, and before December it will start in 20 more cities.
